Lexington children’s clothing maker Lolly Wolly Doodle is the highest-ranking Triad firm on the new edition of the Inc. 5000, the magazine’s annual list of the fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. and the only firm from the region to be in the top 500.
Lolly Wolly Doodle ranked No. 318 on the list, reporting a three-year revenue growth rate of 1,452 percent. The company had revenues of $11.6 million in 2013.
Inc. magazine readers are already familiar with Lolly Wolly Doodle and its CEO Brandi Temple, with the publication having featured the young firm on the cover of its June issue. Lolly Wolly Doodle also made news in 2013 when it scored one of the region’s biggest recent venture capital hauls, a $20 million investment from Revolution Growth Fund.
The Triad had a total of 21 companies in the full Inc. 5000 list.
Among them, at No. 2,589, was Kernersville's Advanced Fraud Solutions, which develops software for financial institutions. CEO Lawrence Reaves said many now-familiar names such as Yelp, Domino’s Pizza and Zillow gained valuable early national exposure from the ranking.
“We’re honored to be recognized by Inc. magazine,” Reaves said. “We continually strive to help our customers eliminate fraud and identify transaction risk, our achievements would not exist without their success. We are excited that we can improve their overall growth with our own.”
